Winter Party and Sing-Along

The students planned their own games including Sorry, Twister, and wreath toss with deer antlers.

STEM Challenge

On Wednesday, December 20th, the students were challenged to create an antler that could support and transport ornaments.  The students were given limited supplies that included popsicle sticks, tape, pipe cleaners, yarn, and tin foil.
The next day the students took part in The Great Reindeer Relays.  The students were tasked with using the antlers they created to transport the ornaments from one location to another in the classroom, where another student would then load up on ornaments and transfer them to another student.

Fall Party

Fall Party

Today was our Fall Party.  Student volunteers planned and hosted our party.  We had plenty of snacks and drinks, as well as entertainment.  Students could choose to watch part of a Charlie Brown movie, play pumpkin bowling, or play other games that students brought in from home.  Thank you to all of the parents who helped provide treats, drinks, plates, cups, napkins, and entertainment.

The Great Cardboard Challenge

Wearable Cardboard Challenge

The fifth graders were tasked with creating wearable cardboard fashions.  All fifth graders were mixed up and put into groups of three.  They then watched a video clip from another adult in the building (other teachers, an associate, a custodian, and counselor).  The video clip shared that person's likes and dislikes about clothing.  The students were then tasked with creating something that person would like and would fit into that contained cardboard.  The students followed the design process and ended this challenge by enjoying a fashion show!
